This is another one of those posts that wasn’t happening and then I idly wandered over to Weibo some hours ago and saw Johnny’s Wednesday all wonderfully well-documented in a way that had to be immediately shared, plus then lovely Joveta Leo sent me some extra pics just in case, you know, 45 or so weren’t quite enough. As of course they wouldn’t be. So since I wasn’t actually blogging today—and I use “today” loosely, because this post covers Wednesday in Beijing which was actually yesterday although I’m still kind of having Wednesday here now at least for a few more minutes while Johnny has already moved on to Thursday in Tomorrowland—I didn’t really have any words planned for this space but that’s OK because no one cares because here are 45+ pics from Weibo. Which I believe is where this paragraph and this day—whatever day it is now—began.

But first, a quick reminder: please go vote in the fan poll on Johnny’s official website! And if you already voted, please go do it again! Because he asked so nicely:

Via Johnny: “Visit http://bit.ly/JWeirFanPoll
and vote for the piece of music you’d most like
to see me use for my next gala program!”

I’ll just wait here......

Actually, hold on, let me go vote for “Buttons” again....

......................

OK! Let’s Weibo!

Photos below credited per Weibo stamp on each image unless otherwise noted. Please click any photo for the full-size image. Some are pleasantly huge, as we all prefer.

I feel like Stéphane is maybe
still not impressed.

IDK but in my head he’s shocked
that Joveta caught him in the locker room...

Part 2. Fan Meeting!

So Johnny’s Pandas had a fan meeting
Wednesday in Beijing, to which they
brought all kinds of gifts for Johnny,
including these “disco roses“...

...and a very very special gift.
They posted this teaser photo on Weibo before the meeting.
Please click for closeup of exquisite detail.

And here is the guest of honor!

Reading the Pandas’ card....

...and now opening their amazing gift...

...a gorgeous dragon-themed skating costume!

Haohewuyin explains
“You said you wanted a dragon,
now we give you a real Chinese dragon!”

So. Many. Gifts.

I believe this scroll may represent Johnny in the role of
the King’s Consort that he’ll be skating with
a male partner during the AOI tour.

Via Johnny’s Weibo: “So happy to be surrounded
by so much love. Thank you!!!”

Via Johnny’s Weibo: “Thank you @Johnny_Pandas
for an amazing Beijing Fan Meeting.
It was so much fun!”

Yes, there’s video! But not yet... Haohewuyin will upload  her videos after she returns home from attending several of the AOI shows. Until then, here’s another look at the fan meeting via a new set of her video screencaps!

And now that Johnny has received his surprise,
the Pandas released these photos showing the
incredibly beautiful detail of the dragon costume!

Bonus pics!! A few more from Johnny’s
arrival in Beijing on Tuesday.

Some of the advertising
for the Artistry on Ice tour!

And one more, via Weibo.
This Weibo user posted a screencap of
Johnny’s Instagram of his Consort costume, and wrote:
“Johnny, the little Prince, came to Beijing,
maybe for Artistry on Ice in Beijing ~
I feel this guy is going to become immortal ~
super beautiful ~ #Johnny Weir#”

Very special thanks to Joveta Leo
for the exclusive pics!!

Johnny is very well loved in Asia. Dragons are auspicious, and that's a beautiful costume.
